NEW ZENITH STUDY REVEALS WHERE SHOPPERS HAVE SPENT THEIR MONEY THIS CHRISTMAS
The Drum this week published some key findings from a recent study on retail spending trends performed by Zenith. Of the 2,500 adults surveyed 53% purchased clothing this year, while 44% of respondents said they bought toys and games for their friends and family. And while DVD sales have taken a hit thanks to the ever-growing popularity of streaming services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, that didn’t stop 34% of Brits spending money on DVD’s this year!
In terms of ‘where’ the British consumer is conducting his or her Christmas shopping, the store is still proving to be king! 25% said they visit the brand’s website initially before going shopping, however 62% of purchases happen in-store.
